Camping, anyone?

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

One of our fellow members, Kathleen, helps run an excellent-looking Christian campground in South Dakota, Kamp Kinship (http://kampkinship.org/).

I definitely want to check it out. We need to take a family trip to South Dakota soon to see Mt. Rushmore, and this camp is nearby.

I love camping at Christian camps. We’ve camped at America’s Keswick here in New Jersey, and my daughter and I visited Camp Cherith in New York this summer for a father and daughter weekend.

Isn’t it fun to get out into nature with God and His people and enjoy the beautiful world He’s created for us?

Fresh Start

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

You know, there’s something about a fresh start that can envigorate.

I recently restarted the program- I felt like I hadn’t learned many of the verses as well as I thought I should, so I did it.

It felt great, until I realized that no one else could start over (unless they emailed me or something), so I made a way for anyone to be able to start over their week or program.

Just go to “My Profile” in the Member Home Page and start your week or program over with the click of a button.

Prayer Request for a Fellow Member

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

A fellow member, Beverly, asks us to pray for a difficult situation in her life:

I would like for you to pray for my Mom. She has Alzheimer’s and has been living with me. Her health has gotten to where I cannot take care of her. She is going to be going in to a nursing home. Please pray that she will accept being there and pray that she will not feel like I have let her down. She has been an exceptional Mom. She always made sure that we was in church and heard the gospel all of our life.

If you feel inclined, please take a moment and pray for Beverly. Thanks!

Prayer Request from Uganda

Monday, September 24th, 2007

Our fellow member Michael, from Uganda, East Africa, asks that we pray for that country:

Dear Robert,

We are having a big problem here in Uganda and other
countries in Africa of floods! Most people do not have
homes, food, and are poor. Pray that the Lord will
open a way to His kingdom through that.

If you feel inclined, let’s pray for Uganda today.
Thanks!
Robert

Thank You

I wanted to stop and thank a couple sites for mentioning BibleMemory.us’ program:

www.desertfather.com

www.mountcarmelibs.org

Thank you for your help and support!

On another note, I just wanted to let you know that I had to remove the Holman Christian Study Bible from the program. It had cross-references embedded in some verses, and it proved too hard for me to remove those cross-references. Really sorry about that.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Do you review?

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

My daughter is going through the basic BibleMemory program.  I asked her if she ever reviewed her verses and she said that she didn’t know how.  I wonder if there is anyone else out there like that.

Here’s what you do:
Go to the BibleMemory.us home page and click “Member Login.”  Then, enter your email address.  At the member home page, click “Review all my learned verses.”

Do it today!  It’s fun, and can be humbling!

New Review Functionality

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

Hello Everyone!

I apologize for not writing lately. I’ve been working on rewriting the entire program, making big improvements and building in your requests.

One request that couldn’t wait that I’ve implemented in the current program is a new review function: you see the verse, but have to enter in the reference. Log into your member home page and try it right away! I think you’ll like it. It’s really challenging.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t yet work for those of you who are memorizing the New King James Version. Sorry about that!. Everyone else, enjoy!
