Profile Changes

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Hello! I had a productive night the other night: I was able to fix a problem with “Chris’ Challenge.” Seems that the comparison didn’t like it if someone entered two spaces anywhere. That’s been improved.

Also, I made some changes to the profile section. You can now change the day of the week that you’re on, and, the best change, you can change to a specific verse. This should be particularly helpful for those of you who are doing a program with your church. If you get behind, you can move yourself up to where everyone else is. I also cleaned that page up a bit- it was looking hideously ugly, especially on Firefox.

Coming soon- the ability to change your program. Yeah, I’m excited about that, too. My man Chris is working on that for me. Thanks, Chris!

You may or may not hear from me for a while- my wife is due Feb. 15 with our 4th kiddo. According to her doctor, it maybe sooner than that. I can’t wait.  If my wife lets me, I’ll try to post some pics for you after the baby is born.  :)
Have a great day!

New Way to Review

Hello everyone!

I’ve just added something new to the review section of the program. Thanks to an idea from John, I’ve added a way to display random verses in your program, rather than following your program’s verse selection.

John felt that he needed to mix things up a bit. Today (Monday), I’ve done the review with just one word missing, tomorrow morning I hope to do the rest.

Backlog

Also, I want to apologize to all of you who have emailed with questions, suggestions, or problems. I’m kind of backlogged about 2 weeks in email correspondence. With time pressures at work, home, and church, I’m a little behind. Sorry about that!

Hey you, review!

And, this is a good opportunity to remind you to review! Do it today, don’t let those verses you’ve memorized weeks ago fall away.

Starting Over

I noticed that someone quit the program in order to start over at the beginning of the program. If you’d like to start the program over at any time, in your Profile, there’s a button that will reset the program. No need to quit and sign up again.

Have a great day!
Robert

Really Sorry

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Hello All,

I want to apologize for the site being down almost all day yesterday (Monday). I sent an email to my web host provider early in the day which wasn’t responded to, so I didn’t have an answer for those of you who wrote wondering what was going on. I’m really sorry. I know how frustrating it can be- I get my daily scripture reading from www.Bibleinayear.org, and several days this month they have had problems and I haven’t gotten my daily email from them! Ug.

You know, this reminds me that the battle is real. Ephesians 6:12 says :

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Could it be that Satan and his minions attempt to hijack technology when good is being done with it?

Please bear with me if it does happen again. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Robert

Thanks also to Mark, Kim, and Elisabeth for pointing out the deficiencies in the way you can advance yourself to the next verse. I’ve made improvements in that area- for those of you who want to learn your verses at a faster pace. Like I’ve said before, I really appreciate suggestions for improvements to the program.

Thank You So Much!

Have a great weekend!

Making Things Easier

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

Hello and Good Morning!

Are your pinkies worn out from tabbing through the fields of your verse? You know the days- where you’re staring down a blank screen with about 20 fields?

Well, thanks to Brian from Children Desiring God, we’ve implemented his great suggestion that the space bar work like the tab key to move you from field to field. It feels like your naturally typing something instead of tabbing from field to field. Why didn’t I think of that? ;) Thanks, Brian! And thanks to Chris, my Javascript wiz, who put this together in probably 5 minutes.

If you’re a glutton for punishment, you can still use the tab key, too.

I really appreciate suggestions for the program- they make the program better for everyone.
