Summertime Fun

I hope you are enjoying your summers so far and have some great plans ahead.

We just got back from a fun weekend in upstate New York at a campground some friends are running called “Jesus Is Lord Park.” You can check out a little web site I did for them at: http://www.JesusIsLordPark.com. We really enjoyed ourselves, and if you like camping, you should pay them a visit! It’s located in the lovely Adirondack Mountains.

Another vacation

We’re going away this weekend, too! We’re headed to Michigan for a family reunion at the <a href=”http://www.bavarianinn.com” target=”_blank”>Bavarian Inn</a>. If you email me with a request, don’t think I’m ignoring you- I’m not sure how quickly I’ll get to it or if I’ll have much internet access. I hope I will- I’m bringing my new Apple Macbook! New toys, gotta love ‘em!

I still have a number of custom programs to load for some folks out there, thanks for your patience. I worked over the weekend on an easy way for me to load up new programs, and that’s done now.

Hello, BibleMemory.us Members!

You may have noticed that we were down for a while on Saturday. I’ve moved the program to a different server. Sorry for the downtime- things like that are never easy, that’s for sure.

If you’re interested, we’re now running on IIS, ColdFusion 8.0, and Microsoft SQL Server 2005.

This is a major change, since we were running on Apache, ColdFusion 5.0 (to my shame), and MySQL. Yeah, everything looks the same, but hopefully you’ll notice a speedier response to your web page requests from BibleMemory.us.

More speedups coming…

I added some things, not as much as I would have liked to, however:

- You can now change your own program

- You can choose to fill in your last day in one big text box, rather than in a bunch of little boxes.

- I made a bunch of changes behind the scenes so I can respond to folk’s requests quicker.

I’m still pondering how I can implement the number 1 request - to add text boxes throughout the week on the verse you’re learning: day 2 two boxes, day 3 more than 2, etc.
